Manufacture of industrial mills
VIGA has more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing industrial mills. We have already produced various types of mills for large and small enterprises, always with great zeal and advanced techniques of highchair. It is no wonder that we are known and respected as pioneers in the beneficence of steel in one of the largest Brazilian poles, Vale do Aço, where one of the largest steel mills in the world, USIMINAS.
We have an industrial park of more than 40,000 m², with ample infrastructure that provides us with specialized materials and equipment that a good manufacturer of industrial mills should have. If you have any project of a mill, do not waste time, contact us ;-)
Types of industrial mills
Vertical Mills of the type “Sand Mills”
The Sand Mills vertical mills represent the most commonly used type of mill in the country. The operation of this vertical mill occurs at the bottom of the Sand Mills mill, where the pumping of the pulp to be micronized into a vat takes place and in the middle of it there are shafts that have pins or disks that rotate with great intensity.
In the vat, internally, there are spheres that, when agitated by the pins, perform the grinding work. The material exits at the top of the mill, by means of a screen separating the beads from the ground material.
Vertical gravity mills
Vertical gravity mills are similar to Sand Mills mills. However, there is a counterpoint: the paste to be milled is inserted in the top part and there is gravity that is responsible for it to go down to the bottom of the equipment.
We do not recommend this type of mill because there is excessive pressure in the lower part of the mill, which causes the temperature to increase and premature wear of the parts and, consequently, the mill life.
Basket Mills
Basket mills have been invented to make milling an easier process as it makes it possible for milling to happen on various types of a drum or similar containers. However, there is a major disadvantage of the basket mill when compared to other types of mills: there is a delay for the micronization of the elements and it is basically impossible to maintain a pattern during the grinding, which implies in different sizes of the final product. Therefore, Viga does not recommend this model to our customers, who aim for high productivity.
Horizontal grinders with slot or sieve
The horizontal grinders with slot or sieve represent modernity in grinding to moist. The models of old mills are produced with a horizontal axis, of discs in the surroundings, where the spheres move by the rotation of these, from there, the material goes through the whole tub, where it is ground by an impact. The separation of the ground material from the beads is done at the outlet by means of screens.
In newer models, the division of ball milling occurs through the cracks and the balls remain in the tub by centrifugal force. Therefore, they allow greater productivity, as it allows the use of small spheres of up to 0.8mm.
