Types of railway signals
There are several types of railway wagons, train lines and railway signals. Among these, there are those considered, in Brazil, of the last generation. They are represented in the ATC (ATS) and ATO classes.
The ATC and ATO classes of train signals are widely used in rail systems with heavy traffic, such as in metropolitan trains or in subway lines.
Because they have the more advanced technology, they enable a more efficient signalling, which operates in fewer time intervals, allowing the transport of a large volume of passengers. In the São Paulo subway, for example, with this technology, it is possible to carry 40 trains every hour using this technology, since the railway signalling used operates at intervals of up to one minute and thirty seconds, which would be considered sufficient for the flow of passengers.
